Canariis Corporation Engages MJW for Fabrication of Air Conditioner Unit Bases
In summer of 2023, MJW was engaged by Canariis Corporation for the fabrication of 48 mobile air conditioner unit bases. These units are rented out by the owner to provide temporary air conditioning for warehouses, sports complexes and similar facilities that have a need for additional cooling capacity or whose permanent air conditioning units might be undergoing repairs.
The MJW shop in Lakeland, Florida has been fabricating between 60 and 100 of these bases each year, holding mobile air conditioning units ranging from 26-tons to 400-ton capacity, depending on the customer’s needs.
The units are fabricated from C8 channel with forklift pockets and push bars to make them easy to move around on job sites. The bases range from 16 to 28 feet long and are 8 feet wide. After fabrication the bases are shipped to the client's facility where they are painted before the air conditioning units are installed on them and run-tested before deployment. From there, they are shipped to various equipment rental facilities throughout the country.
MJW has been producing this style of unit for Canariis for three years, but has produced other types of HVAC equipment for the client for twenty years.
