J. P. Donovan Construction of Rockledge, Florida has awarded MJW Consolidated a contract to provide and install a large bore piping system and refurbish the flame trench at NASA’s Launch Complex 39B at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This launch pad will be utilized in future launches of NASA’s new Space Launch System (SLS) rockets, enabling astronauts to travel deeper into the solar system. NASA is currently working on the Orion spacecraft, which will be the first SLS rocket to use the launch pad.

MJW has recently been awarded the Electrical Service Upgrade project for Marathon Petroleum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The project’s goal is to consolidate multiple electrical services that currently feed the terminal into a single 5K Volt 2,000 amp service, requiring extensive electrical, civil and structural scopes.
MJW has recently been awarded a fire protection project at the new Enviva Port of Wilmington, NC wood pellet export facility.
MJW Consolidated recently completed a $3.5 million job at GP Cellulose at the Chip Thickness Screen (CTS) and Motor Control Center (MCC) buildings. The job consisted of constructing a six-story structural steel CTS building and a one-story MCC building.
Recently, Milton J Wood was awarded a multi phased structural steel project in North Florida. The project scope was to remove and replace two failing roof trusses over an active product line. In order to complete this scope of work MJW had to remove 319 concrete roof panels, nearly 100 severely corroded connecting beams, the building siding, all the sag and tension rods, and portions of the building columns. All of this was accomplished while the manufacturing process below continued to turn out the product.
MJW Consolidated has teamed up with Dana B. Kenyon and Powell and Hinkle Engineering to perform a design-build project to upgrade the existing storm water collection system at the CSX Curtis Bay Coal Loading Facility located in Baltimore, Maryland.
MJW announces that it has recently executed an agreement with IEP Technologies of Marlborough, MA to become the distributor and integrator of their premier line of industrial explosion prevention systems.
Milton J. Wood Company was the successful bidder on a truck tipper and chip conveyor installation project located in Quitman, MS.
MJW Consolidated was the successful bidder on 5 major projects for the January 2015 annual RockTenn Recycling Eastport facility outage. These projects posed challenges as they were located in several areas of the mill. We were tasked to execute projects in 4 days and 4 nights on 12-hour shift schedules which required a total of 68 MJW team members (39 during days & 29 during nights) comprised of carpenters, millwrights, ironworkers, pipefitters and superintendents.
