DRAX BIOMASS SELECTS MILTON J. WOOD AS ITS FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES PARTNER
Milton J. Wood Fire Protection, a subsidiary of MJW Consolidated and a leading provider of design-build fire protection systems for the wood pellet manufacturing industry, has been selected to design and install fire protection and process control systems for two wood pellet plants located in Louisiana and Mississippi and the associated port storage and loading facility at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge, projects of Drax Biomass.
Drax Biomass is a subsidiary of Europe's largest power company, Drax Group plc. Drax Group is converting its coal-fired plants in the UK to sustainable and low-carbon footprint wood pellets, a new and emerging energy standard in Europe. Milton J. Wood Fire Protection is an established leader in the design and install of fire protection systems for wood pellet plants and ports. MJW designed and installed innovative fire protection systems in the world's largest pellet plants built by Green Circle Bio Energy in Cottondale, FL and by Georgia Biomass in Waycross, GA, as well as the largest pellet exporting facility in the US, Enviva Port of Chesapeake.
Milton J. Wood Fire Protection was selected by the Haskell Company to provide design-build services at the two Drax Biomass pellet producing plants and by Gray Construction to provide design-build services for the Port Allen Facility.
