MJW AND BLAKELAND CONSTRUCTION PARTNER TO RENOVATE PARRIS ISLAND FACILITY

MJW is partnering with Blakeland Construction on a project at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina. The project consists of a partial renovation of several areas that includes a new roof, restroom facility upgrades, replacement of nine existing air handling units,  adding cooling to elevator equipment rooms, and addition of a split-type heat pump system to an administrative area. The new HVAC equipment, installed by MJW, meets current energy standards required by ASHRAE 90.1 and is intended to provide a needed improvement to the building’s humidity controls.

The new AHUs use high-efficiency pleated filters rated at MERV 13 as well as internal UV lights for disinfection of the coil surfaces and treatment of airborne contaminants. The project is on-schedule for a mid-April, 2022 completion.
