MJW to Provide Fire Detection and Foam-Water Systems at Miami International Airport Rental Car Center

On a recommendation from a past client, Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, Inc. engaged MJW to evaluate fire protection measures at their fuel farms that supply gasoline to the rental car companies (RCC) parking garage at the Miami International Airport. In cooperation with the client and working closely with the Miami Dade Fire and Rescue Department, MJW’s Lakeland team installed and commissioned in use flame detection system at each tank farm.

Based on the success of that project, Sunshine Gasoline Distributors initiated a second project for13 oil change bays located on three different levels of the Miami International Airport Rental Car Center. This time, MJW’s scope of work includes design, permitting, installation and commissioning of fluorine-free foam-water deluge systems, released by the electronic heat detection releasing system. The project went into permitting in early August of 2022 and is projected for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
